Classroom.cloud is our live classroom management system, replacing AB Tutor. It allows you to monitor screens, share your screen, lock devices, and support students during lessons.

🔐 Logging In
Step 1: Go to:
https://portal.classroom.cloud/signin
Step 2: Click the green Sign In button.
Step 3: Choose Continue with Microsoft and select your staff account.
You’re now logged in and ready to begin.

📚 Starting a Class
Step 1 Click My Classes in the left-hand navigation bar.
Step 2 Select Bitterne Park School.
Step 3 Find your class by either:

  • Searching using the 🔍 magnifying glass

  • Typing in a room number (e.g. R3-16)

  • Searching for a laptop trolley name/number

  • Selecting your class code

What’s the difference?
  • Room numbers → Show devices physically located in that room.
  • Laptop trollies → Show devices assigned to that trolley.
  • Class codes → Pick up students who are logged in with you (useful in shared spaces or unfamiliar rooms).

Step 4 Click the class, room, or trolley name to start the session.

Students will now see a banner at the top of their screen showing your name.

🛑 Ending a Class
At the end of your lesson:
Click End Class.

This:
  • Removes your control
  • Removes the student banner
  • Turns off the student toolbar

Always end your class when finished.

👀 Viewing Student Screens
When your class starts, you will see live thumbnails of student screens.
  • Click any screen to enlarge it.
  • There may be a slight delay, but it is reliable.

This allows you to quickly see who is on task.

🖥 Screen Sharing
To share your screen:

  1. Click the Play button in the toolbar.

  2. Choose to share:
    • An application
    • Your entire screen

⚠️ Important:

Please share an application or your entire screen — not a single browser tab.

If you change pages within a tab, the screen share may stop working.

🔒 Locking & Unlocking Student Devices

  • Click the Lock button to instantly lock all student screens.
  • Click Unlock to release them.

This is useful for:

  • Gaining attention quickly
  • Giving instructions
  • Pausing work

Locking is almost instant.

🖱 Remote Control
To control a student’s computer:

  1. Click on their screen.
  2. Click the mouse icon.
  3. You can now control their device.

    Great for:

    • Demonstrating something
    • Helping students without walking across the room
    • Fixing small issues quickly

    🎛 The Student Toolbar
When a class starts, students automatically see a toolbar.

    This allows them to:
    • Raise their hand
    • Receive lesson objectives
    • Receive rewards (stars)

🔕 Turning Off the Student Toolbar
If you do not want students to see the toolbar:

    1. Click the red button with three dots in the class action bar.
    2. This will disable the student toolbar.

The toolbar will also disappear automatically when you press End Class.

    💬 Raise Hand & Chat
Students can click Raise Hand to digitally alert you they need help.

    ⭐ Rewards
You can award stars to students to recognise positive behaviour or effort.

    This appears on their screen.

    ✅ Top Tips

    • Always End Class when finished.
    • Use Room numbers for fixed ICT rooms.
    • Use Laptop trolley groups for portable device sets.
    • Use Class Codes in shared or flexible spaces.
    • Share applications or full screen, not browser tabs.
    • Use Lock instead of raising your voice to regain attention.

If you need support or experience any issues, please contact IT Services.

Classroom.cloud is designed to be fast, reliable, and easy to use giving you better visibility and control in your classroom.
